If you have insurance that Nourished Connections Counseling is not in network with, we can offer a Superbill for potential reimbursement.

Navigating insurance benefits can be confusing for most of us, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us should you need additional guidance on how to find out cost using your insurance.

.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act. This requires healthcare professionals to provide uninsured or self pay clients a “good faith estimate” for the cost of their health care prior to receiving services.

This will show the cost of items or services reasonably expected at the time of your service. If you receive a bill for more than $400 above the estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Rates & Insurance FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Nourished Connections Counseling is currently in network with Aetna / Meritain, Blue Cross and Blue Shield / Anthem, and United Healthcare / Optum. Because coverage can vary by plan, please confirm directly with your insurance provider that your specific therapist is in network before scheduling.

How do I know what therapy will cost with insurance?

Your cost depends on your specific insurance plan. You may have a copay, coinsurance, deductible, or other client responsibility. Before scheduling, contact your insurance provider and ask about your outpatient mental health benefits, deductible, copay, coinsurance, and telehealth coverage.

What should I ask my insurance company before starting therapy?

Helpful questions include: Is this provider in network with my plan? What is my copay or coinsurance for outpatient therapy? Do I have a deductible? Has my deductible been met? Are virtual therapy sessions covered? Do I need prior authorization? Are family therapy sessions covered?

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that may be submitted to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific insurance plan and benefits.

Can I use out-of-network benefits?

Possibly. If Nourished Connections Counseling is not in network with your plan, you can ask your insurance company whether you have out-of-network mental health benefits. If you do, we may be able to provide a superbill for potential reimbursement.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Virtual counseling may be available for clients located in North Carolina. If you are planning to use insurance, check with your insurance provider to confirm whether telehealth or virtual therapy sessions are covered under your plan.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a $100 charge for sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. Nourished Connections Counseling does not charge a cancellation fee in the event of illness or emergencies, but cancellations due to scheduling conflicts may be subject to the late-cancellation fee.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate of expected healthcare costs for uninsured or self-pay clients. Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare professionals are required to provide this estimate before services begin. If you receive a bill that is more than $400 above the estimate, you may have the right to dispute the bill.

Do you offer in-person therapy?

Yes. Nourished Connections Counseling offers in-person therapy in Davidson and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Virtual counseling may also be available for clients located in North Carolina.

Who can I contact with questions about rates or insurance?

You can contact Nourished Connections Counseling before scheduling if you have questions about rates, insurance, superbills, or payment. We are happy to help you understand what information to request from your insurance provider.
