Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment that combines cognitivebehavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to help individuals manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthy coping strategies. It focuses on balancing acceptance and change, teaching skills in four areas: emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Originally developed for people with borderline personality disorder, DBT is now widely used for many different issues involving emotional dysregulation.
