For many of the clients Esther works with, life feels challenging — whether it’s navigating an eating disorder, trauma, or the weight of anxiety and mood challenges. Her goal is to create a compassionate and judgment-free space where clients can show up exactly as they are. Esther’s style is structured, collaborative, and Health At Every Size aligned, blending evidence-based approaches with an appreciation for the uniqueness every client brings to the table.
Originally from Germany, Esther lived in Ireland for several years before relocating to North Carolina in 2016 for graduate school (and for warmer weather). She completed her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University in 2018 and has since worked with kids (age 10+), teens, adults, and families, supporting them through both everyday struggles and deeply rooted patterns.
Esther is joined in session by her 10-pound cockapoo, Fiadh—her unofficial co-therapist—who offers emotional support, comic relief, and the occasional request for a treat.
